Scholarships

About the program

The first group of scholarships was awarded in 2001, for the 25th anniversary of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine (UFCVM), in honor of all FVMA members who worked tirelessly in the mid-1960s to create UFCVM. The FVMA scholarships reward students dedicated to forwarding veterinary medicine’s future, giving them opportunities to indulge in their studies while removing financial barriers.

20 recognitions are awarded each year to aspiring and promising DVMs, CVTs, and Faculty across the state of Florida. These recognitions are offered in a variety of ways:

University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine
- $2,000 FVMA Scholarships are awarded to 6 DVM students (sophomore, junior, senior) focusing on small animal medicine
- $1,000 FAEP Scholarship is awarded to 1 senior DVM student focusing on equine medicine
- $500 Clinical Investigator Award is given to 1 faculty member focusing on the advancement of knowledge in clinical veterinary medicine
$500 CVT Scholarships are awarded to 2 graduating students at each of the following colleges:
- Eastern Florida State College
- Florida A&M Education
- Hillsborough Community College
- Miami-Dade College
- Pensacola State College
- St. Petersburg College
