FVMA members are part of a community of more than 5,600 veterinary professionals committed to strengthening the voice of veterinary medicine in the state.
Members have access to numerous tangible benefits, including complimentary legal consultations, professional publications, and discounts on quality continuing education, personal and professional services, and products. But some of the most valuable benefits derived from membership in the FVMA are intangible. The FVMA is a powerful voice for the veterinary medical profession and works to affect policies and legislation that protect the veterinary profession, veterinarians’ livelihoods, and the well-being of patients and clients.
FVMA offers classic DVM membership, with bonus inclusion for equine veterinarians in the Florida Association of Equine Practitioners (FAEP), as well as membership for veterinary technicians, assistants and practice managers.

Legal Consultations
FVMA members have always been able to ask questions pertaining to practicing veterinary medicine, pharmacy law and veterinary board relations. Starting in 2022, we’ve expanded legal benefits to include new areas of law such as labor and employment law and civil litigation.
Practice and pharmacy-related inquiries are referred to Attorney Edwin Bayo, Partner of Grossman, Furlow, Bayo, LLC and instructor of the RACE-approved 3-hour Florida Laws and Rules & Dispensing Legend Drugs course. Labor, employment law, and civil litigation inquiries are referred to Sniffen & Spellman, P.A.
To take advantage of this benefit, email info@fvma.org with your inquiry and contact information.
Legislative Advocacy
The FVMA’s Legislative Committee and our staff are constantly monitoring any proposed legislation that could affect the veterinary profession. Our statewide network of members contacts legislators whenever necessary to protect the interests of our membership. The FVMA also retains the lobbying firm Converge Government Affairs to ensure that the “good bills pass” and the “bad bills don’t.”
