Inspire by FVMA is a comprehensive wellbeing program designed for all Florida veterinarians, veterinary professionals, and team members, regardless of membership status with the Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA).
At its core, Inspire by FVMA aims to reduce harm and promote flourishing across individual, team, and organization levels. Our tactics are specialized, but our approach is simple: reduce barriers to mental health treatment and provide practical tools to create positive workspaces.
Address specific mental health challenges with a veterinary-informed and affiliated mental health professional. With Inspire, you can take advantage of up to three free individual sessions. For continued support, we also provide negotiated rates for longer-term care and coaching.
Our Licensed Mental Health Counselors are prepared to discuss your unique challenges, with key areas of focus spanning stress management, anxiety and depression, self-esteem and confidence, relationships and communication, trauma and emotional healing, grief and loss, lifestyle and work-life balance, personal growth and goal setting, mindfulness and relaxation techniques, and coping with life transitions.
PERMAH is an internationally recognized framework focusing on positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning and purpose, achievement, and health. With the PERMAH4plus tool, you can put these pillars to work through a simple online assessment that only takes about 10 minutes to complete.
Once finished, you’ll receive a downloadable wellbeing assessment personalized to your unique needs. This includes immediate results across the PERMAH pillars, information to help you make sense of your scores, and insights to help you feel and do your best at work. To maximize the assessment’s impact, we will also anonymize the data and share results and recommendations in a virtual presentation for your team. By taking advantage of this opportunity, you’ll be able to make meaningful changes right away through personalized coaching reports, more than 200 positive psychology intervention options, and a better understanding of your unique wellbeing journey.
We’ve partnered with the VIN Foundation’s Vets4Vets program to offer you one-on-one or group support sessions, beyond the counseling and coaching that we offer on our side.

In addition to individual support and opportunities, Inspire by FVMA offers solutions for your entire team.
Wellbeing Champions Initiative
The Wellbeing Champions Initiative takes cues from the global grassroots campaign, helping practice managers, medical directors, and leadership explore affordable, low effort strategies to create substantial impact. By working with this specialized network, individuals can proactively develop new wellbeing concepts and lead local projects focused on preventing psychological distress and facilitating career fulfillment. Each project is led by a trained Wellbeing Champion, who is focused on stimulating personal growth, inspiring change, and establishing greater wellbeing in the workplace. This may take the form of resilience training, workplace assessments, stress management workshops, or open forums. There are countless approaches, but each iteration reinforces the power of our community and the impact we can create in shared spaces. As well, these projects can help increase retention through factors like rewards and recognition. Interested in receiving training to become a Wellbeing Champion? Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) Workshops
Whether you’re interested in implementing a new Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) or enhancing an existing plan, our team is here to help. With our EAP Assistance Program, you can take advantage of hands-on workshops to facilitate and optimize plans that enhance wellness. This allows you to identify and assist employees with overcoming workplace burnout, addressing psychological distress, and resolving personal issues affecting work performance.
To help you achieve these goals, our program focuses on leadership utilization, awareness of your EAP offerings, ease of access to resources, and confidentiality to encourage employee participation. In addition to helping your employees, this can also be extended to eligible household members, including a spouse, domestic partner, children, or other dependents.
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger and needs emergency mental health intervention, call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988 (para ayuda en español, llame al 988). The Lifeline provides 24-hour confidential support to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Call 911 in life-threatening situations.
