Enriching students by the efforts of the fvma foundation

The first group of scholarships was awarded in 2001, for the 25th anniversary of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine (UFCVM), in honor of all FVMA members who worked tirelessly in the mid-1960s to create UFCVM. The FVMA scholarships reward students dedicated to forwarding veterinary medicine’s future, giving them opportunities to indulge in their studies while removing financial barriers.

Such opportunities are only made possible by The FVMA Foundation, which is primarily funded by donations. By donating any amount of money, you are directly contributing to the future of your profession and giving young professionals the gift of opportunity.

The FVMA is proud to provide the following scholarships:

• University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine
  • FVMA Scholarship – Established in 1996 and awarded yearly to six DVM students (sophomore, junior, senior) focusing on small animal medicine
  • FAEP Scholarship – Established in 2006 and awarded yearly to one senior DVM student focusing on equine medicine
  • Kugler Student Research Grant – Established in 2017 and awarded to one DVM student enrolled in the Florida Veterinary Scholars program focusing on canine or feline-related research
  • Clinical Investigator Award – Awarded yearly to one faculty member focusing on the advancement of knowledge in clinical veterinary medicine
  • Charlie Bild Clinical Proficiency – Awarded yearly to one senior DVM student focusing on clinical proficiency in both large and small animal patient

• Florida Veterinary Technical Education
  • City College Gainesville – Established in 2022 and awarded to two graduating students
  • City College Hollywood – Established in 2022 and awarded to two graduating students
  • Eastern Florida State College – Established in 2022 and awarded to two graduating students
  • Florida A&M Education – Established in 2022 and awarded to two graduating students
  • Hillsborough Community College – Established in 2010 and awarded to two graduating students
  • Miami-Dade College – Established in 2022 and awarded to two graduating students
  • Pensacola State College – Established in 2022 and awarded to two graduating students
  • St. Petersburg College – Established in 2022 and awarded to two graduating students
