Power of Ten cultivates leadership capacity by providing learning experiences to young veterinarians. The program offers engagement in seminars, meetings, and activities to participants, which will provide valuable information and experiential learning to deepen their understanding of the profession, colleagues, clients, and themselves.
The Florida Veterinary Medical Association’s Power of 10 program is dedicated to empowering early-career veterinarians through comprehensive leadership skills development. Our mission is to cultivate a community of skilled, compassionate, and innovative veterinary leaders who are committed to advancing the profession and enhancing animal health and welfare across Florida. We strive to provide a supportive and collaborative environment that fosters personal growth & well-being, professional excellence, and a lifelong commitment to learning & service.
The FVMA Power of Ten Program enhances veterinarians’ professional skills through a focused curriculum covering topics such as:
Each year, ten participants are selected from an applicant pool to participate in the program. Selected applicants join each other for four learning experiences and mentoring sessions over the course of a year. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, webinars, and other unique offerings. All successful applicants will then be publicly honored during their graduation at our FVMA Annual Conference.
The FVMA will provide full tuition scholarships and covers expenses for participants’ meals, refreshments, and lodging when necessary to attend multi-day events.
We understand your busy schedule, so our in-person learning experiences are designed to minimize disruptions to your working hours. The entire program is designed to garner support from practice owners who recognize their key responsibility in developing veterinary leaders.

Those who have had a degree for 10 years or more do not qualify
Power of Ten 2022 graduating class.
As a Power of Ten participant, you can expect four learning sessions as well as graduation.* These are spread throughout the year and are designed to minimize disruptions to your work. The deadline for applications is February 15, 2026.
