The Florida Association of Equine Practitioners (FAEP) is an equine-exclusive division of the Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA). The FAEP’s mission is to support the professional development of its members and to educate them on issues affecting the equine industry as well as methods for improving equine welfare in Florida. The FAEP offers world-class, equine-exclusive continuing education at two annual conferences: the Promoting Excellence Symposium and the Ocala Equine Conference. The FAEP also runs and distributes the equine-focused publication, The Practitioner, to FAEP members.

The FVMA’s Legislative Committee and Staff are constantly monitoring any proposed legislation that could affect the veterinary profession. Our statewide network of members will contact legislators whenever necessary to protect the interests of our members. The FVMA also retains the lobbying firm of Rutledge Ecenia PA to ensure that the “good bills pass” and “the bad bills don’t.”
The Promoting Excellence Symposium, Equine Foot Symposium and Ocala Equine Conference (equine), as well as online courses, provide affordable opportunities for CE, where members can network professionally and socially with colleagues and industry partners while expanding skills and knowledge in veterinary medicine.
The Practitioner, which is FAEP’s quarterly publication, is provided to members free of cost and is our vehicle for circulating up-to-date information about the equine industry and FAEP’s conferences. Click here to view latest issues of The Practitioner! Emails and social media also keep you in the loop with breaking news and issues that affect your profession.
The FVMA staff is here to help you and answer any questions you might have. Your business and professional interests are the FVMA’s primary focus. If we do not know the answer, we will do our best to find it for you.
The new FVMA website contains your online membership directory, giving you the ability to find a colleague’s name, address, phone number and email, and to edit your own record in the FVMA database. Pet owners have the ability to locate an FVMA member veterinarian by searching by name, city or county. The public view will contain the FVMA members’ clinic address and phone number.
