I hope this message finds you well and that you’re enjoying a restful and fulfilling summer. The FVMA has remained active and engaged on behalf of our members throughout the season. Over the past few months, our Legislative Committee has held numerous meetings with lawmakers across Florida in preparation for the upcoming legislative session, which begins in January. While we successfully prevented harmful legislation last year, our eff orts must continue to safeguard the future of our profession. I strongly encourage you to support these eff orts by contributing to the FVMA Political Action Committee (PAC), helping ensure veterinary medicine has a strong and unified voice in Tallahassee.
As we move deeper into hurricane season, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to our Disaster Preparedness Committee for its ongoing dedication. I urge all members to have preparedness plans in place for both their homes and practices. We are also working to establish points of contact in each district to allow for rapid mobilization in the event of a disaster. If you are interested in serving in this capacity, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m also proud to share that “Inspire by FVMA” has been well received and continues to grow. Th is vital initiative offers confidential, no-cost support to all veterinarians and veterinary team members across the state—regardless of FVMA membership status. We are committed to being a resource for your wellbeing whenever you need us.
Finally, I look forward to seeing many of you at Th e Gulf-Atlantic Veterinary Conference,
