Founded in 1928 by a small group of Florida veterinarians, the FVMA has served its membership of licensed veterinarians for almost a century. The Association, most recently launched four professional entities under its operational umbrella to recognize and serve the other members of the veterinary team. The Association of Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and the Association of Certified Veterinary Assistants, offer certification, membership and services to veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants, while the Association of Practice Managers and the Association of Animal Care Technicians provide membership and services to managers and on-the-job-trained technicians.
