The difference between the FVMA and FAEP’s six conferences

As veterinary professionals strive to provide the best care for their patients, we’re working behind the scenes to create vibrant in-person learning environments to elevate their knowledge and hone their skills. With the inaugural FVMA Regionals wrapping this past weekend, we’re entering the FVMA’s most engaging time of the year.

The Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA) now offers six veterinary conferences to serve a variety of practitioners from small animal and equine to food animal and exotic.

For Equine Practitioners

Ocala Equine Conference (OEC)

Each year, we invite equine practitioners to the “Horse Capital of the World” for the Ocala Equine Conference. Attendees earn high quality, RACE-approved continuing education (CE) from the nation’s top instructors, learn about the latest developments in equine products and technology in our lively exhibit hall, and network with fellow practitioners.

With a sprawling venue in the heart of horse country, OEC brings learning to a scenic location perfect for equine practitioners.

OEC 2022 is scheduled to take place January 21-23 in Ocala, Florida. Register here.

Promoting Excellence Symposium (PES)

Our signature equine conference visits iconic locations across Florida to deliver unique opportunities for learning, leisure and networking for equine veterinary practitioners and industry professionals from near and far. This leading equine-exclusive continuing education program offers CE through lecture and comprehensive wet lab opportunities.

National and international experts have presented on lameness, laminitis, muscle diseases, rehabilitation, imaging, compassion fatigue, soft tissue injuries and much more.

This year’s PES was held October 21-24 in Naples, Florida. Those interested in attending PES 2022 can follow the FAEP here.

For Food Animal Veterinarians

Dr. Harvey Rubin Memorial Food Animal Veterinary Medical Conference

Bringing quality CE to the food animal industry, this annual conference also offers updates from FDACS, the USDA and FARAD. From foreign animal diseases to supply chains, this comprehensive event is customized to give food animal veterinary experts a RACE-approved event laser-focused on relevant topics.

The 2021 event was held virtually, but our hope is to return to an in-person format for 2022. You can follow us for updates here.

For Small Animal and Exotic Veterinarians

The Gulf-Atlantic Veterinary Conference (TGAVC)

A luxurious setting paired with a world-class veterinary CE program, TGAVC is a cutting-edge conference for a profession that continuously innovates. Set near the end of every year, TGAVC is focused on bringing enriching CE to luxurious destinations. A modern, lively take on veterinary education, TGAVC has CE for every member of the veterinary care team.

This year’s conference returns December 2-5, 2021, in West Palm Beach, Florida, after a hiatus due to COVID-19.

The host hotel, the Hilton West Palm Beach, is a luxurious venue set in the heart of the downtown area of one of Florida’s most iconic beach-based cities. Here attendees will truly experience the difference. Our host hotel links directly to the Palm Beach Convention Center, where attendees will be able to take advantage of our exceptional CE program, wet labs, workshops, abundant networking opportunities, social activities and the latest in veterinary products and technology.
